Welcome to Mums the Word™ ...

nanny servicesEstablished in 1999, Mums The Word™ was founded by Emma Kavanagh, also a mother of two children.

In 1987 Emma qualified as a nanny and has since had many happy years as a live in/out nanny, helping parents with their little ones.

Mums The Word™ enjoys a 'hands on' approach with a personal service. Over the years parents and nannies have come back to Mums The Word™, opting for the friendly quality service offered to them.

We place nannies all over Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and Wiltshire and in the surrounding counties.

All nannies are interviewed and references followed up and checked.

Gaby RoslinGaby Roslin supports children’s charity event Mums on the Run 5k

Television presenter Gaby Roslin is encouraging mums to join the Mums on the Run 5k for children’s charity Action Medical Research on 16 September. Gaby is a mum herself, and a supporter of the charity’s work around tackling premature birth and treating sick and vulnerable babies.

Gaby says, “What a great idea! A 5k run is the perfect distance for new runners. Get yourself in shape, bring the kids along to see you in action and know you’ve helped sick babies and children at the same time. Good luck mums!”

Double Olympian Liz Yelling, also a supporter of the event, has put together training tips and advice, aimed specifically to help mums complete the 5k run.

The run is open to all women - mothers or not, and will take a scenic route through the gardens and surrounding grounds of beautiful Waddesdon Manor country house in Buckinghamshire. The location also has a woodland playground, gardens and an aviary which the whole family can enjoy as they cheer on the runners. The charity’s mascot Paddington Bear will also be at the event to entertain younger supporters!

The run will raise money to help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children. This year Action Medical Research celebrates 60 years of vital research.
The charity is currently supporting work around meningitis, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, premature birth and some very rare conditions that severely affect children.

Registrations fees are £20 and participants will also need to commit to raise a minimum sponsorship of £60 - £1 for each of Action Medical Research’s 60 years!
